Frequently Asked Questions

All students are required to apply for their degree in order to receive their diploma. The application rule and process may be found on the Applying for Your Degree page of the graduation website.

Which ceremony will I attend?

Students will participate in the ceremony based on their college. A full breakdown of the ceremony schedule is located here. Some programs have been granted an exception to the ceremony their students will participate in. Those exceptions can be found here.

Will guest tickets be required for Fall 2024 graduation? No, at this time guest tickets are not required. What steps do I need to take so I can participate in the ceremony?

Please review the Graduation Checklist. For additional questions please contact Degree Audit at degree-audit@tamu.edu.

Where can I buy regalia?

All graduates who participate in the ceremony must wear the appropriate commencement attire and are required to wear the TAMU regalia for the degree they will be awarded. Please review the Things to Order for Ceremony page for additional information.

What color hood should I order? Review the appropriate hood colors based on your Degree and Major. Are there rehearsals for students?

There is no advance rehearsal unless you have requested a special accommodation or otherwise noted for a specific commencement ceremony on the Graduation Schedule page.

When will I receive my diploma?

Degree candidates will receive their diploma after the ceremony via mail as long as they have submitted their graduation application, have met all degree requirements, and have cleared any financial obligations owed to the university. These students who pass the initial clearance can expect their diploma to ship two to three weeks after graduation. Students who clear after the initial clearance and before the final clearance deadline can expect their diploma to ship based on the scheduled posted to the Diploma Information page. An email with tracking information will be sent to the graduate’s Texas A&M email account once the diploma ships.

What name will be printed on my diploma?

The name printed on your diploma will be the name listed on your official student records at the time the degree is awarded. More information about the name change process can be found on the Personal Information Change page.
